During this period he had training under orthopaedic and neurosurgical spinal surgeons. He has also published extensively and presented papers on spinal surgery at various international conferences. He also has authored in a major medical textbook.
Mr Sivaraman successfully completed his higher surgical training in the prestigious London Hospital and Percival Pott training programmes. He was appointed as consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon at The Royal London and St Bartholomew's hospitals in 2006, as part of their internationally renowned trauma units.
Mr Sivaraman’s special interests are in neck, thoracic and lower back pain. He is also involved in a rapidly growing treatment for various spinal pathologies, regularly performing minimal access surgery for disc related pathology. In addition to surgical treatment for back and neck problems, he also performs spinal injections including radiofrequency rhizotomies. Mr Sivaraman also has special interests in the treatment of spinal stenosis, deformity and trauma, as well as providing comprehensive treatment for various neck related problems, rehabilitation and whiplash injuries. Other procedures carried out by Mr Sivaraman are cervical disc replacement, vertebral augmentation for osteoporosis affecting the spine and the treatment of spinal infections including tuberculosis.
