Personal Profile
In her NHS practice she manages general medical dermatology and inflammatory skin disease with a special interest in psoriasis. She also treats skin lesions and skin cancer, is involved in the local skin cancer MDT and removes small skin lesions under local anaesthetic. She lead a local pilot for the use of an asynchronous digital dermatology platform in 2020 and continues to progress local use of teledermatology solutions where and when appropriate.
Dr Bonsall is regularly involved in training junior doctors and medical students in dermatology. She is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and became Careers Lead for the medical school MBChB degree programme in 2021. She is involved in question setting for postgraduate exams for Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and in guideline renewal with the British Association of Dermatologists.
Dr Bonsall has published papers in national and international journals, takes part in local research and audit and attends courses and conferences to stay up to date with management of skin disease.
Dr Bonsall is currently a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, the Scottish Dermatological Society, the British Society for Lifestyle Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. She is a Council Member for the Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society.
Outwith dermatology Dr Bonsall has two small children and enjoys painting, paddleboarding and cycling.
