Personal Profile

Ali Tasleem is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at The Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley, part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has a specialist interest in bladder cancer for which he is the Lead and has recently introduced a new service for bladder cancer procedures under local anaesthetic in his Department. He is also Clinical Governance Lead for his Department.

Ali graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine, University of London in 2009. He undertook Core Surgical Training in Yorkshire, and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England during that time. He went on to a 5 year higher specialist urological programme in North and Central London. During that time, he undertook training in all aspects of General Urology. He has sub-specialist training with the Stones and Endourology Unit at University College London Hospital, and is experienced in managing urinary tract stones and upper tract transitional cell cancer using minimally invasive techniques and laser surgery.

Ali has published and presented academic work widely, both nationally and internationally, and has authored several book chapters. He is actively involved in the education and training of junior doctors having examined at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Hospital Medical School and Sheffield Medical Schools. He tutored anatomy at Hull and York Medical School and he supervises on Royal College of Surgeons training courses for junior surgeons and urology trainees.

Ali is a member of several societies including the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the British Medical Association, and he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He regularly attends conferences and seminars to provide the highest quality evidence based care for his patients. He is a keen swimmer and is happily married with three young children.
