Dr Gately attended Liverpool University for her medical degree, completing foundation training in the Wirral before moving to London.
Dr Gately embarked on the Core Medical Training pathway whilst living in London, training at Croydon University Hospital and St Georges hospital. These training opportunities led to a keen interest in Haematology, which led Amy to spend a number of years working at The Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre as a Lymphoma fellow and Bone Marrow Transplant fellow before embarking on GP training.
Dr Gately is now a GP partner in Melksham being the practice lead for Cancer, QOF, Learning disability and the practice Armed forces Veteran lead amongst many other roles.
Outside of her NHS work Dr Gately runs two successful aesthetic clinics.
