He grew up in Oldham and attended the University of Newcastle where he was awarded his medical degree with Distinction. He undertook his Orthopaedic training in the North West of England.
He secured a Royal College of Surgeons Award to undertake an International Fellowship in Complex and Revision Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery at Sunnybrook Holland Centre in Toronto, Canada - one of the largest volume and renowned joint replacement hospitals in North America.
Whilst undertaking this specialist training, he was awarded a Current Concepts Foundation Scholarship attending the leading joint replacement conference in the USA. This training forms the basis of his cutting-edge practice.
In his NHS practice he enjoys training junior doctors and has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Education by Health Education England.
He has published research in leading medical journals, authored a textbook chapter and presented at national and international meetings.
His practice is patient-specific and underpinned by evidence. He strives to ensure patients are given clear information about their problems and the treatments available to help them make bespoke decisions. His aim is to provide the best possible care and outcome for each patient.
