Personal Profile
Mr Andrew Wyman is a General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon who practices open and laparoscopic surgery. His surgical training took place in Leicester and Sheffield with later specialist training experience in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Mr Wyman was appointed as a consultant surgeon in 1996 and helped to establish the upper gastrointestinal surgical service in Sheffield. For many years he was chairman of the North Trent Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Network.
Mr Wyman has been an examiner for the MRCS examination run by the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in the UK. He has been Training Programme Director for Higher Surgical Training in the South Yorkshire region and is currently Associate Training Programme Director for the Yorkshire and the Humber Postgraduate Deanery. Mr Wyman has served on the Council of the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.
Mr Wyman has been member of the Surgical Advisory Committee for UK general surgical training. Mr Wyman is currently chairman of the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in General Surgery at JCIE which is responsible for running the FRCS examinations on behalf of the Surgical Royal Colleges.
