Mr Arif Khan was appointed Consultant General Surgeon in 2005 with special interest in colorectal surgery and keyhole surgery. He was trained in University College Hospital London and was Awarded CCST by the Royal College of Surgeon Intercollegiate Board.
Mr. Khan was the Colorectal Lead and the head of Enhance Recovery Programme (ERAS). He is a National Trainer for minimally invasive haemorrhoidal surgery and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He is a JAG approved endoscopist and preforms screening & diagnostic endoscopies.
He is an expert in sports hernia keyhole surgery. He specializes in treatment of anal fissure, fistula, diverticular disease and management of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He also specializes in management of gallbladder disease and performs laparoscopic cholecystectomies.

He has published his work in International Journals and his publications can be sited on the ResearchGate website. He is keen in teaching and training and is a faculty member of FRCS and MRCS course. He also holds the position of Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University. He is a member of Clinical Excellence Award committee and is an Appraiser for medical and surgical consultants.
