Professor Miranda is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon & Hand Surgeon at St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns, one of the largest specialist centres in Europe.

Professor Miranda is a Consultant at St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns, one of the largest specialist centres in Europe. He studied medicine at University College London, during which time he completed a BSc. After completing a Plastic Surgery PhD, he ranked first place in the Plastic Surgery national recruitment process and was awarded a London training program. He undertook his Plastic Surgery training at prestigious university-associated teaching hospitals in London (including UCH, Royal Free, Chelsea & Westminster, St Mary's Paddington). After being awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast), he completed two Aesthetic fellowships at leading international Cosmetic Surgery institutions (Wellington Hospital, London Clinic, King Edward VII) and 2 prestigious Hand Surgery fellowships (Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Chelsea & Westminster Hand Unit). He also gained further experience abroad in Australia, Europe and across the UK.

In addition to a busy clinical practice, Professor Miranda is active in Plastic Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery & Hand Surgery Research. He has over 120 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international level. He is the author of two best-selling surgical textbooks and has over 20 academic prize awards and distinctions. He is an appointed official tutor for the BSSH British Hand Diploma (University of Manchester); this is a higher sub-specialty qualification for Plastic Surgeons and Orthopaedic Surgeons wishing to undertake a career in Hand Surgery. He supervises Plastic Surgery trainees, organises and is regularly invited to participate in national and international surgical training courses, he is a Visiting Senior Clinical Lecturer and Educational Supervisor at Anglia Ruskin University School of Medicine where he is responsible for the training of undergraduate medical students.

Professor Miranda welcomes patient referrals from GPs and Consultant colleagues, as well as patients who wish to self-refer and pay for treatment themselves.
