Personal Profile

Dr David Francis is a GP with a wide experience of working in the NHS. He began working in the NHS Ambulance Service in 2002, qualifying as a paramedic and reaching the level of emergency care practitioner. In 2012 he embarked on a new challenge to study medicine at the University of Leicester. Qualifying in 2016 he undertook foundation year posts in psychiatry, general surgery, respiratory medicine, public health medicine, cardiology and acute medicine. He then began GP training in 2018 undertaking posts in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics.

Since qualifying as GP he has held various posts including providing NHS services which he still does for one day a week. He also provides healthcare in secure environments, does remote online consultations and is the club and crowd doctor for two professional football clubs. He also provides steroid joint injections.

Whilst completing GP training he undertook an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine, graduating in 2022. He also holds a diploma in Musculoskeletal Care and is a diplomate member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine.

With this breadth and depth of NHS experience Dr Francis is able to provide truly holistic healthcare which is patient-centred and responsive.
I enjoy providing GP services across a wide range of settings. I truly believe that preventative medicine is better than reactive medicine and implement my knowledge gained from my Sports and Exercise Medicine degree into every health consultation. I ensure that I remain patient-centred at all times and am quick to establish what matters to the patient and how we can work collaboratively to best address that. I use my knowledge gained from a wealth of experience in the NHS to provide evidence-based cutting edge healthcare.
