Personal Profile

David Izadi is a Cambridge University Graduate and a multi-award-winning consultant plastic surgeon with more than 15 years’ experience in plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and hand surgery. He is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council for Plastic Surgery and is a substantive plastic surgery consultant at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW).

David is a warm, personable and caring doctor who offers bespoke treatments, tailor made to his patients’ needs and expectations. He has a consistent track record of delivering natural and excellent results, using the latest modern techniques. His patients describe him as kind, meticulous and dedicated.

David is a specialist in aesthetic rhinoplasty surgery. He is highly trained in this field, having been taught by some of the finest U.K. rhinoplasty surgeons. He has completed an advanced aesthetic rhinoplasty fellowship with Professor Hossam Foda, in Cairo, considered one of the Global Masters, and a visiting aesthetic rhinoplasty fellowship with Professor Nazim Cerkes, in Istanbul, who is the immediate past president of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS). Furthermore, David regularly attends the latest scientific meetings on aesthetic rhinoplasty, incorporating the latest cutting-edge techniques into his practice.

David is an accomplished facial aesthetic and body contouring surgeon. He is a full member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He completed a comprehensive aesthetic surgery fellowship during his training and continues to refine his skills by visiting the most distinguished aesthetic surgeons globally. As a facial plastic surgery expert, David offers face lifts, blepharoplasty surgery, otoplasty, lip lifts, buccal fat pad excisions, as well as non-surgical techniques such as botulinum toxin injection and dermal fillers. As a body contouring expert, David offers male and female breast reduction surgery, breast augmentation and lifts, areolar and nipple surgery, abdominoplasty, liposuction, arm and thigh lifts and labiaplasty. 

David is fellowship trained in hand surgery at the two most distinguished hand centres in the world – The Pulvertaft Hand Centre and The Institut de la Main in Paris. He subspecialises in minimal invasive hand and peripheral nerve surgery. He has received the International Dupuytren’s Award for the best global research in this field. He is a Fellow of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and a Fellow of the European Board of Hand Surgery, having completed an advanced post-graduate hand surgery diploma. He has chaired and organised several national and international hand surgery meetings, including IFSSH 2022 scientific program in London. He is dedicated to Global Surgery and is on the BSSH Global Partnership Committee helping to train and empower local surgeons to deliver safe and high standards of care. He has travelled overseas to Sierra Leone as an awardee of the BSSH Trainee Global Hand Surgery Fellowship and has been to Nepal in 2023 with the BFIRST charity.

At UHCW, David is a member of the skin cancer MDT, the hand surgery MDT, the microsurgery extremity reconstruction team, the complex abdominal wall MDT and leads on pelvic floor reconstruction. He is the educational lead for plastic surgery, is a tutor for anatomy at Warwick Medical School and is part of the national committee for appointment of new plastic surgery training doctors each year. David is passionate about training the next generation of plastic surgeons and in recognition for his efforts in 2022 he received the prestigious award for Best Plastic Surgery Trainer in the U.K.

David is well published across the fields of plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery, having authored more than 40 peer reviewed publications and book chapters and presented at more than 68 national and international scientific meetings. He continues to take an active role in research, and is part of the steering committee for national collaborative research projects.

  • Facial plastic surgery including septorhinoplasty, face lifts, otoplasty, blepharoplasty, buccal fat pad excision and lip lift.
     
  • Cosmetic body contouring surgery, including male and femal breast reduction, breast augmentation, breast uplift, nipple and areolar surgery, abdominoplasty (including belt 360 lipectomy, fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty and lipoabdominoplasty), arm reduction, thigh lift and labiaplasty.
     
  • Scar revision, serial tattoo excision, removal of moles and skin lesions and skin cancer, including reconstruction with local flaps and skin grafts.
     
  • Minimal access hand and peripheral nerve surgery, including short scar carpal tunnel release, trigger fingers and  needle fasciotomy for Dupuytren’s disease.
     
  • Management of complex compression neuropathies of the upper limb, including nerve and tendon transfers.
     
  • Functional upper limb surgery for patients with strokes and cerebral palsy
