He has special interests in vascular and urological radiology and uterine artery embolisation for fibroids. He undertakes ultrasound, CT and MRI scanning as well as a wide range of minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures for both NHS and private patients.
This includes complex aortic aneurysm intervention, complex peripheral vascular intervention including angioplasty and stenting, embolisation procedures including Uterine artery and Varicocoele embolisation and treatment of Arteriovenous malformations.
Dr Anantha Krishnan completed his basic surgical training at Derby and undertook undertook specialist training in Radiology in Dundee, followed by 2 years of sub specialty training in Interventional Radiology at the prestigious Glasgow unit.
He has been a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary, a large university teaching hospital, since October 2012.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and a Member of the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is a member of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE).
Dr Anantha Krishnan actively participates in teaching and research and has recently received the Editors medal for the best annual research paper in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology for 2014 for his research on Fibroid Embolisation.
