Personal Profile
Mr Young graduated as a research prize winner from the University of Cambridge and University of Oxford. His urology training initially consisted of committing himself to clinical and scientific research in treatments for prostate cancer at the Cancer Research Institute for Cancer Studies at the University of Birmingham. This led to his being awarded the highest research degree of PhD. He subsequently completed general urology training in the West Midlands and completed training as Endourology Fellow at the prestigious Institute of Urology in Bristol.
As well as his interest in all general urological problems, Mr Young also has a subspecialist practice in minimally invasive and kidney stone surgery. He is the lead urologist for stone disease and minimally invasive surgery at the regional Manchester Stone Centre at the University Hospital of South Manchester (Wythenshawe). He regularly receives referrals from throughout the UK for his subspecialist expertise in both the NHS and at Circle Health Group.
Mr Young continues to promote a patient focussed and evidence based approach to urology and is regularly invited to speak at national and international meetings.
