Appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital in 1990. Undergraduate training at University of Cape Town and Internship at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. Pre-fellowship training in Surgical Rotation at Groote Schuur Hospital.
Post-fellowship training in Orthopaedic Rotations at the Royal Free and St Thomas Hospitals, London. 1984 worked with Professor Renato Bombelli on Hip Biomechanics in Osteotomies of the Hip. 1985 was Clinical Research Fellow to Professor Ian MacNab in Toronto. This post offered training in spinal and shoulder surgery.
He has presented at National and International meetings on spinal surgery and published on spinal surgery. He was previously surgical editor of the British Journal of Sports Medicine and Co-editor of current medical literature in orthopaedics. He has been on faculty at Hip Resurfacing meetings and co-chaired Knee Replacement meetings. He set up a Diabetic foot clinic at Hillingdon Hospital. He also performs general spine care services.
He is a tutor on Training the Trainers Committee. He is actively involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching with students from Imperial College, London.
His present interests centre in the fields of sports medicine, foot and ankle surgery, joint replacement and spinal surgery.
