Dr Justin Gould

Personal Profile

Dr Justin Gould is a Consultant Cardiologist treating all areas of general Cardiology, including chest pain, breathlessness, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He has a special interest in palpitations, dizzy spells, blackouts and managing patients with heart rhythm problems as well as Cardiac imaging. Dr Gould works at Medway NHS Foundation Trust in Kent and is an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London.

Dr Gould qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School at King’s College London with a distinction in special study programmes and completed his Cardiology training in London and the South East. He subsequently undertook specialist training in Cardiac rhythm management, Cardiac device therapy (pacemakers and ICDs), CT coronary angiography and Cardiac MRI at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals.

Research and publications

Dr Gould has a strong academic background with a BSc in Pharmacology and a PhD in Cardiac device therapy and Cardiac imaging from Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College London. He has presented his extensive research at both national and international conferences and was a finalist in the European Heart Rhythm Congress Investigator Awards and the Royal Society of Medicine President’s Prize Awards. Dr Gould has first and co-authored over 80 publications in leading peer reviewed international journals and continues to be actively involved in research.

Teaching

Dr Gould is actively involved with Cardiology teaching at all levels. He is an examiner and interviewer for King’s College London Medical School and interviews for the Cardiology specialist training programme in London and the South East.
