Professional Profile

Mrs Kambhampati has completed MBBS and postgraduate training in Obstetrics ang Gynaecology from India and has been working for NHS since 2005, and at Northampton General Hospital since 2014. She has been a consultant gynaecologist at Northampton General Hospital since 2016.

She has researched the effects of artificial sweeteners on overactive bladder at the University of Leicester. Her main area of interest is Urogynaecology and pelvic floor disorders. She is currently the lead for benign vulval services and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology services at NGH. She is also the lead for clinical risk management in Gynaecology at NGH

Mrs Kambhampati is an examiner for undergraduate medical students from Oxford University and is actively involved in bedside teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Mrs Kambhampati is a recognised provider for some insurance providers, such as BUPA, Aviva and Axa now.

Clinical Interests

Mrs Kambhampati has vast experience in gynaecology and has special interest in Urogynaecology, benign vulval conditions, menstrual disorders.

Over the years of training and working at several different hospitals in the UK, she has gained expertise in the management of genital organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, benign vulval diseases like cysts, lichen sclerosis, vaginal and vulval itching pain soreness and infections, heavy and painful menstrual bleeding, bleeding in between periods, excessive vaginal discharge, management of fibroids, management of endometriosis and ovarian cysts including keyhole surgery, problems with perineal wound healing after delivery, painful sexual intercourse and pelvic pain, contraceptive advice, advice on HRT.

Mrs Kambhampati offers both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for all the above conditions and also performs ultrasound assessment of the pelvis where indicated.
