Personal Profile

Ms Kerrie McAllister is a Consultant Paediatric ENT Surgeon with a sub-specialist interest in ear, hearing, breathing and balance disorders in children. Ms McAllister only sees children aged 3-16.

Ms McAllister qualified in 2001 from Glasgow University and after completing postgraduate basic surgical training, she entered a 6 year higher surgical training programme covering all aspects of ear, nose and throat surgery in the West of Scotland Deanery. She has completed specialist training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery after obtaining her intercollegiate fellowship examinations (FRCS-ORL HNS). She completed a further year of subspecialist training with an Ear, Skull Base and Cochlear Implant fellowship at Auckland City Hospital and Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. 

Ms McAllister was appointed as a Consultant in Paediatric ENT at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow in 2015. After training in both adult and children’s ENT, she now solely specialises in children’s ENT conditions. She is a Surgical Trainer and Educational Supervisor in the West of Scotland Deanery (ENT surgery) and is a faculty member on temporal bone and ENT emergency head and neck surgery courses.

Ms McAllister is actively involved in Undergraduate medical education and holds Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer status at the University of Glasgow. She is actively involved in recruitment for postgraduate ENT Specialist Training. She is Audit and Clinical Governance Lead and West of Scotland Representative on the ENT Scotland Committee.
