Personal Profile

Mr Konrad Wronka is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Bury St Edmunds. He specialises purely in hip surgery and provides care for patients with hip injuries and hip disorders, including patients that have problems following a hip replacement.

Mr Wronka completed his initial Foundation Training in Wessex Deanery and undertook Higher Specialty Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Wales. During his training, he undertook fellowships in Endo-Klinik in Hamburg, Germany, as well as in Ghent and Bruges in Belgium. After completing FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2017 and being appointed to the specialist register in 2018, Mr Wronka went on to British Hip Society funded Fellowship in St Georges Hospital, London, South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC) and the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter, where he further developed his practice of complex primary and revision hip arthroplasty.

Mr Wronka was appointed a Hip Specialist Surgeon in West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds in August 2019. He is the lead for Hip Fracture care in West Suffolk Hospital, and he remains very involved with improving hip fracture services. Mr. Wronka is also a keen educator and clinical and educational supervisor. He completed Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education in Cardiff University. He is involved in clinical research related to the hip with numerous publications, national and international presentations and on-going projects.

Mr Wronka provides appointments for all NHS patients who wish to be seen at St Edmunds Hospital, as well as for those with private health insurance or patients who wish to pay for themselves.

In his personal life, Mr Wronka enjoys football, running and gardening. He lives close to Bury St Edmunds with his wife and two children.
