Personal Profile
Dr Chen is a consultant dermatologist and the lead for skin cancer at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds. He is also a clinical tutor and examiner for the MSc in Practical Dermatology course at Cardiff University. He obtained his MBBCh from Cardiff University School of Medicine in 2006, and was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in dermatology under the Wales Deanery in 2014.
Dr Chen was awarded the Rising Star Scholarship for the 23rd World Congress of Dermatology by the International League of Dermatological Societies, and he is part of the research team who had won the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network annual themed research fund. He has articles published in medical journals, and has presented in national and international medical conferences (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Kun-Sen-Chen). He has also acted as principal investigator for clinical trials under the research and development department at West Suffolk Hospital.
Dr Chen regularly gives bedside teaching in clinic to medical students from the University of Cambridge School of Medicine, delivers teaching sessions to the trainee doctors and general practitioners in the East of England Deanery, and speaks in regional educational meetings attended by consultants, specialty trainees, general practitioners, and clinical nurse specialists.
