Dr Lieske Kuitert

Dr Lieske Kuitert has been a Consultant in Respiratory medicine and General medicine for over 12 years. Her practice covers the breadth of respiratory medicine (including asthma, COPD, chronic cough, breathlessness of unknown cause, lung cancer, lung fibrosis,and sleep disordered breathing) and general medicine. She has practised in the UK for more than 20 years.

Dr Kuitert has a special interest in cough, breathlessness of unknown cause, asthma, acute and chronic infections,  and PE/DVT. She has been involved in research in asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary emboli at the London Chest Hospital Lung Research Centre for almost 20 years. She was awarded a PhD from the University of London in 2001.

Dr Kuitert is Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service, Lead for the Regional Bronchiectasis service, and has been a  long term member of the Trust Antibiotic Review group. she has an advisory role in diagnosis and management of PE and DVT, particulary in pregnancy, and in local guideline development.

From 2009-2011  Dr Kuitert was Clinical Director for Specialist Medicine at Barts and the London NHS Trust, and held overall responsibilty for quality of care, patient experience, and outcomes.
