Dr Louise Dolan was appointed Consultant Rheumatologist at Greenwich District Hospital in 1996. Her medical training took place at Newnham College, Cambridge and King’s College Hospital with her specialist training conducted at Guy’s and St Thomas'. Dr Dolan was Consultant Rheumatologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich 1996-2021 and now practices principally at Blackheath Hospital, SE3.
Dr Dolan has a special interest in osteoporosis and has founded and run specialised clinics for this, along with the Fracture Liaison Service and bone density scanning, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She also has a special interest back pain and polymyalgia rheumatica and has published in these areas.
Dr Dolan has published widely in both national and international research journals on the tropics of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and polymyalgia rheumatica. She was previously involved in hospital management as Divisional Director at Lewisham and Greenwich Trust. Dr Dolan has been a Trustee for the Royal Osteoporosis Society and continues to work with them.
Dr Dolan has special interests in: Osteoporosis, including bone density scans and Vitamin D deficiency, PMR, Rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, and gout. She has recently been caring for patients with the MSK problems of long Covid.
