She moved into general practice in 1998 and completed GP training in 1999 following which she qualified to become a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

She has an interest in general medicine, health screening and genitourinary medicine but is happy to see patients with a wide variety of medical problems. Common consultations might be for menopause, prostate, smears, breast and work medicals. Dr Selby recognises the balance between mental and physical health and the importance of considering all elements of health for well-being. She offers her patients a holistic approach, ensuring she has a comprehensive understanding of a patient’s lifestyle before making a diagnosis. Dr Selby has easy access to pathology and imaging departments, ensuring blood tests, scans, x-rays and other tests can be conveniently carried out under one roof, often on the same day as your appointment.

As a result of close links with consultant colleagues, Dr Selby can quickly refer on if patients need to be seen by a specialist. If the specialism is not on site at Mount Alvernia she can similarly make referrals to other places.
