Personal Profile

Ms Lynn Stevenson is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, consulting privately at Albyn Hospital. She has an interest in all aspects of general surgery including hernia management and minor 'lumps and bumps' removal, as well as a specialist interest in colorectal surgery. In colorectal surgery, Ms Stevenson specialises in the treatment of benign colorectal conditions including haemorrhoids, anal fistula, anal fissures, functional disorders, faecal incontinence and diverticular disease. Ms Stevenson also specialises in colorectal cancer diagnosis and management, offering patients rapid access to clinical consultation and appropriate and timely investigations.

Ms Stevenson graduated in medicine from the University of Aberdeen in 2001. Following this she successfully completed a Masters in Medical Law degree in 2009 from the University of Glasgow with her final dissertation on consent and then became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010.  Ms Stevenson was selected by Ethicon for a prestigious fellowship in laparoscopic (key-hole) colorectal surgery in 2011. Her current professional memberships include the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) and she has been a Regional Surgical Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
