Personal Profile
Dr Melanie Romain is a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician. She studied medicine in South Africa and completed her specialist training in North West London in 2012. During that time she worked in a range of London Hospitals including Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals.
She was appointed as a Consultant to the Royal Free NHS Foundation trust in 2013 and is based at Barnet Hospital. She runs a busy acute geriatrics ward and manages patients of all ages on both and inpatient and outpatient basis.
Dr Romain has participated in the medical liaison service at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, offering perioperative medical assessment. She currently is involved in care home multidisciplinary medicine. She has a keen interest in medical education for junior doctors and medical students.
