Personal Profile

Mr Jones is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at The Priory Hospital. His NHS practice is based at the prestigious Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital. 

Mr Jones specializes in treating spinal disorders in both adults and children. This includes the surgical management of cervical (neck) and lumbar (low back) problems. He regularly performs complex spinal deformity surgery for conditions such as scoliosis, as well as surgery and therapeutic injections to address conditions causing back and leg pain (such as spinal stenosis and disc prolapse). 

Mr Jones gained his medical degree from the University of Manchester. In addition, he has been awarded a BSc degree from Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, London and a Master’s degree from the University of Manchester.  

Mr Jones has undertaken advanced spinal surgical fellowships training with Professor Ken Cheung (Hong Kong), Professor Ralph Mobbs (Sydney), Professor Robert Dunn (Cape Town) as well as specialist spinal fellowship training in Sheffield and Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He was awarded AOSpine and British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowships during his training. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, AOSpine and the Scoliosis Research Society.

Mr Jones is a GMC recognised educational supervisor. He is actively involved in training the next generation of spinal surgeons as well as enjoying teaching undergraduate students from the university of Birmingham Medical School.
