Mr Baba Gana

Mr Baba Gana graduated from the Prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria with an award from the Paediatric Association of Nigeria as the best graduate in 1983. He was a demonstrator in Anatomy in Newcastle upon Tyne Medical school in 1986. He was at the institute of Urology London where he gained postgraduate diploma in Urology in 1991. He was a registrar in Urology at Dundee Royal Infirmary / Ninewells Hospital.

Mr Gana completed his specialist registrar training in South Wales / Royal Glamorgan Hospital and was appointed as a substantive consultant in Hywel Dda University Health Board in 2002.

Mr Gana has general urological training and special interest in investigations and treatment of benign and malignant prostate diseases including using Laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP), benign and malignant bladder diseases such as blood in the urine, bladder cancer, incontinence using autologous sling graft, urethral stricture diseases including the use of buccal mucosal reconstruction. 

Mr Gana has wide publications in peer reviewed journals and has made several international presentations in San Diego USA, Montreal Canada, Tokyo Japan, Khartoum Sudan and within United Kingdom.

Mr Gana is a recognised medical educator and is a fellow of the prestigious Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom.
