Personal Profile

Mr Nicholas Lee is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and provides a regional NHS Facial Deformity service to Sheffield and South Yorkshire. He works with the orthognathic (jaw surgery) multidisciplinary team and with ophthalmology colleagues on the Sheffield Joint Orbital clinic to provide multidisciplinary care to patients. Sheffield is a major trauma centre and often deals with the acute management of trauma patients and in the secondary management of post traumatic facial deformities.

After completing his Dentistry (BDS 1992) at Sheffield University and Medicine (MBBS 2001) at the Royal Free London he undertook training in oral and maxillofacial surgery within London at St George’s Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, University College Hospital and the Eastman Dental Hospital.

Nicholas completed an NHS Training Group Interface Fellowship in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Sheffield Teaching Hospital and St John’s Hospital, Bruges, Belgium. He was a Bowlder Henry Scholar 1997- 2000 and passed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist Exam from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh FRCSEd (OMFS) in 2009 and entered the GMC Specialist Register in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2010. He is also on the GDC Specialist Register in Oral Surgery.

His interests include facial aesthetic surgery, orthognathic (jaw) surgery, facial (patient specific) implants, the management of post traumatic facial deformity, routine oral surgery, quality improvement and health leadership.

His work has allowed him to use his aesthetic training to enhance the results in his facial trauma and facial deformity patients while using the same reconstructive techniques to refine his cosmetic procedures, providing patient centred care.
