I began my surgical career in Sri Lanka since 2000 after completing my internship in 1999. After moving to the UK I completed his structured postgraduate training programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and gained the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT – 2010) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I then completed sub-specialty fellowship at Oxford University Hospital that was accredited by the Royal College of Gynaecologists for Sub-Specialty in Gynaecology Oncology. I am a member of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS) and the BMA, and BSCCP-accredited colposcopist and trainer. I completed my research in image-guided surgery and surgical planning (MSc(Res)) at Oxford University while working as an Honorary consultant.

I am an experienced advanced laparoscopic surgeon, performing laparoscopic surgeries/minimal access surgery (MAS) for uterine, cervical and highly selected early-stage ovarian cancers.
I treat most benign gynaecological symptoms except infertility treatment and uro-gynaecological symptoms as we have separate sub-specialist for management of these conditions.
Few examples of common benign conditions that I treat are:
Heavy menstrual bleeding, needing contraception, menopausal symptoms, pelvic pain and PMS, ovarian cysts, irregular periods, post coital bleeding, vulval lumps, cervical smear abnormalities and fibroid uterus etc
