Personal Profile

Dr Khan initially qualified from Karachi, Pakistan, in 1993 and thereafter completed his final year MBChB at Aberdeen University in 1997. He achieved the ‘Scottish Triple’ LRCP, LRCS, LRCPS in 1999 to become a fully qualified Doctor in the UK.  

Dr Khan has worked in various specialities in hospitals across Scotland before qualifying as a GP in 2003. Upon completion of his GP training, Dr Khan worked in various Out of Hours departments performing as both a GP and Clinical Tutor across the West of Scotland, before settling as a GP Principal in 2004. In 2013, he subsequently established his own group of surgeries providing care to patients across the North and South of Glasgow. He currently cares for around 7000 patients and oversees a varied group of clinical staff including GPs, a Paramedic Practitioner, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Physician Associate.  

As well as his own personal achievements, Dr Khan has also worked extensively with Glasgow University as a tutor to third, fourth and fifth year Medical Students for over 20 years. He also offers the same teaching to final year Medical Students from England. 

After achieving MRCGP status in 2023, Dr Khan is now working towards becoming an Honorary Lecturer with Glasgow University. He is also currently the Chairperson of the Association of Pakistani Physicians and Surgeons Scotland - an organisation who provide a wide range of teaching and training to their approximate 250 members.
