Personal Profile
Mr Townsley qualified in 2006 from the University of London, and after completing his foundation training in Kent, Surry and Sussex, he returned to the West of Scotland for his Higher Surgical training in Otolaryngology (ENT), training in all aspects of Ear, nose, throat and neck surgery. After obtaining his certificate of completion of training (CCT) he completed an advanced fellowship in Laryngology at The University Of Toronto, focusing on care of the professional voice, swallowing and airway disorders.
Mr Townsley was appointed a Consultant in ENT with a subspecialty interest in Head and Neck and Laryngology surgery within NHS Ayrshire and Arran, working at University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr in 2017 where he has been the Lead Clinician for Head and Neck Cancer since 2019. He is involved in clinical research and has published in the field of Laryngology and Head and Neck. He is involved in post-graduate training of ENT Surgeons in the West of Scotland and is a member of the Specialty Advisory Board for Otolaryngology at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
