Personal Profile

Dr Sapna Gulati is a qualified General Practitioner with 15 years’ experience.  She currently works in the borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. Prior to becoming a GP, she spent 12 years in hospital medicine and has acquired a wealth of experience in a number of different specialities, particularly in Elderly medicine.

Training and Appointment


Dr Gulati has been the GP Lead for Elderly Medicine for Richmond CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) and in this role, she developed services for the elderly population.  She is now the GPWSI (General Practitioner with Special Interest) within the Integrated Falls and Bone Health Service at Teddington Memorial Hospital, a service that she developed alongside specialised physiotherapists, and now runs.

In addition, she completed 18 months of specialist training in Psychiatry having worked in the Adult and Old age sector. This continues to be an area of specialist interest for Dr Gulati; she has been involved in the Older Persons Mental Health Strategy meetings for Richmond CCG, working within care homes championing dementia care.

She has a proficient understanding of Women’s Health including menopause management and has also been the lead for Asthma and COPD within her current NHS GP role.

Teaching and training


Dr Gulati is a certified CMT teacher and examiner for Imperial College medical students.  She is a highly motivated doctor who is passionate and driven to develop her skills, as well as providing a high quality of care to her patients.

She recognises the importance of effective communication with colleagues, patients and their families and is a supportive team member.
