Personal Profile

Mr Malik is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Worcester Royal Hospital. His area of interests are all aspects of Shoulder, Elbows and Knees. He operates at Worcester Royal, Alexandra Hospital and Kidderminster Hospital & Treatment centre.

Mr Malik graduated in Medicine from Cardiff University in 2007 after completing a BSc (Hons) at St George’s, University of London. He did his initial training in London at North Thames Foundation School and then moved to Birmingham for Higher Specialist Training, on the run-through training programme at the prestigious Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme (BOTP). He trained at various hospitals in and around Birmingham including City & Sandwell, Birmingham Children’s, University Hospital Birmingham, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Worcester Royal Hospital and Russells Hall Hospitals. He completed the Royal College of Surgeons of England Fellowship exam in 2017 and was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training in July 2018.

Following his training on BOTP, Mr Malik undertook over 2.5 years of specialist Fellowship training in pursuit of his passion for Sports Medicine. He completed a Fellowship at the Arthroscopy unit at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. Mr Malik then went onto the Pan Am clinic in Winnipeg, Canada where he spent a year with Prof. Peter MacDonald and Dr Jamie Dubberley doing Sports Surgery and Upper Limb reconstruction as well as soft tissue knee reconstruction. He then completed the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship in 2020 with Mr Peter D’Alessandro and colleagues where he focussed on all aspects of Shoulder and Upper limb surgery as well as soft tissue knee reconstruction including multi-ligament knee reconstruction. Mr Malik also then spent 3 months doing a Trauma Fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth before returning back to the UK.

Mr Malik was appointed as Training Programme Director for Education for Core Surgical Trainees in Health Education England West Midlands very early on. He also teaches on FRCS (Tr&Orth) and other national courses.
