Dr Wharton is a specialist in Respiratory Medicine and has been investigating and treating patients with the primary respiratory complaints of cough, wheeze and breathlessness since 1995. He qualified from Guy’s Hospital Medical School in 1992 with degrees in both Medicine and in Sociology as Applied to Medicine and has been a consultant in Respiratory Medicine at Queens Medical Centre since 2000.
Dr Wharton trained in London, Brighton, Derby and Sheffield. He ran the Medical High Dependency Unit at Queens Medical Centre for 10 years and has developed a subspecialist interest in Sleep Medicine, treating patients with sleep apnoea, restless leg syndrome, REM sleep behaviour disorder, insomnia and narcolpesy.
He is a member of the British Thoracic Society, British Sleep Society and the European Respiratory Society.
