Dr Sobia Arshad has completed Diabetes and Endocrinology training at Kent sure and Sussex deanery in 2019. Dr Arshad now works as an Endocrine Consultant at Kings College NHS foundation trust.

Dr Arshad is dynamic, enthusiastic, dedicated and forward thinking Doctor who believes in hard work and dedication to achieve excellence in care quality, research, education and training. Dr Arshad has been actively involved in teaching and training. Dr Arshad can provide Clinical and Education supervision to the trainees.

Dr Arshad looks after endocrine patients on the ward and also in an outpatient clinical setting. Dr Arshad leads thyroid multidisciplinary team meetings. The aim of this is to address the governance issues associated with the complex thyroid cancer patients through an MDT approach. In addition to providing a full clinical commitment to the ever-increasing service requirements of Endocrinology and Acute/ General Medicine,  played active role in education, research & innovation and service improvement.

Dr Arshad has been able to help Junior Doctors with their professional development and career progression. Through her additional role of mentor/tutor for junior doctors in medicine, lots of Junior doctors have passed their post-graduate exams and secured training posts.

Sharing her knowledge, clinical innovation and research, Dr Arshad has presented at various local and national seminars, conferences and patient support group meetings. Dr Arshad enjoys organisational responsibilities, and consider herself to be an organised and capable person who can be effective, motivate others and achieve set targets. Dr Arshad has also learnt to set timescales and manage her own workload effectively in her busy schedule.

To address the enormous pressure on our Endocrine service, Dr Arshad answers GP queries through advice and guidance. In addition to providing prompt intervention, this has significantly reduced the burden on endocrine clinics through a low cost, win-win solution to both patients and our Trust.

Dr Arshad has a special interest in thyroid. Dr Arshad chairs thyroid Mutidisplinary team meeting at Princess royall university hospital to mamange suspected thyroid cancer patients. Dr Arshad works  along side opthalmologist to treat Thyroid graves disease, especially in antenatal period. Thyroid nodule, multinodular goitre and thyroid cancer etc.

Other areas of interest include weight management, complex type 2 diabetes, adrenal problems, pitutary problems, infertility and Polycystic ovarian disease.
