Training and Appointment
Miss Mall completed her extensive Ophthalmology Specialist training in the West Midlands and Oxford regions, working at both the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre and Oxford Eye Hospitals. She also gained further expertise by completing a Medical Retina fellowship at Moorfield's Eye Hospital in London. Following completion of her Ophthalmology training in 2014 she has practiced as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon.
Current Practice
Miss Mall is an experienced Surgeon and has performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries with excellent results. She also has knowledge and expertise of the use of premium intraocular lens implants. She regularly audits her results and her complication rate is well below the national average.
Within Ophthalmology, her sub-specialty is Medical Retina and Cataract Surgery with specialist interests in Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), Diabetic eye disease and Retinal Vein Occlusions. She has expertise in the management of retinal and macular disease with laser and intravitreal therapies. In addition to this she also provides services in Glaucoma, Uveitis and General Ophthalmology.
Miss Mall has held a substantive position as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust. She has also worked as a Consultant at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust where she was the Clinical Lead for the AMD service and successfully implemented changes to modernise the Medical Retina service.

Research and Publications
Miss Mall has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has also co-authored the diabetic retinopathy chapter of an online Ophthalmology publication. Miss Mall has presented at conferences at a national and international level and has also been a sub-investigator for clinical trials investigating the use of intravitreal treatment, for AMD and Vitreomacular traction.
