Personal Profile

I am a consultant gynaecological oncology surgeon and Clinical Lead in Gynaecological Oncology at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. I completed my training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the Northeast of England, followed by a research fellowship at the Northern Gynaecological Oncology Centre, in Gateshead, and subspecialty training and accreditation in gynaecological oncology at the Leeds Cancer Centre. I have extensive surgical skills and experience in the treatment of general gynaecological conditions and all forms of gynaecological cancers. Additionally, I am also an accredited colposcopist.

I offer treatment of fibroids, ovarian cysts, menstrual problems, postmenopausal bleeding, complex gynaecological procedures, including surgical treatment of endometriosis, gynaecological cancer surgery, including vulval cancer surgery and sentinel lymph node excision, in addition to minor procedures like hysteroscopy and colposcopy.

I also offer Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery for benign gynaecology conditions as well as gynaecological cancers, including sentinel lymph node excision. Since 2015, I have had a major contribution in development and establishing the team to offer ultra-radical surgery for advanced gynaecological cancers at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Furthermore, I am actively involved in gynaecological oncology training. I am currently the gynaecological oncology subspecialty training programme supervisor in Leicester.

I am an Honorary Lecturer at the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, University of Leicester, with a keen research interest in advanced ovarian cancer. I regularly present in national and international conferences and publishes in peer reviewed journals. I am the principal investigator for the PROTECTOR Study, in Leicester, which offers risk reduction surgery to women with a high risk of developing ovarian cancer.
