Personal Profile
Dr Toby Sutcliffe is a senior consultant psychiatrist of over 20 years experience. His NHS role has involved the assessment and treatment of many patients with a wide variety of difficulties and concerns. He has a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of depression, bipolar illness and anxiety disorders.
Dr Sutcliffe studied medicine at Charing Cross Hospital, before completing further training in psychiatry at St Mary’s then St George's Hospitals in West London. Since moving to his current NHS consultant post in Wiltshire he has been actively involved in training psychiatrists and medical students both as Postgraduate Tutor and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol. He has taken a lead in the development of local resources, most recently as Clinical Director for Adult Mental Health Services in Wiltshire.
His primary focus remains collaborative patient care.
