After completing her core paediatric training in London, she found her passion in Paediatric Gastroenterology and applied for a Diploma with Merit in Gastroenterology at Queen Mary University of London. This Degree equipped her with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, and she successfully completed her Diploma in July 2015. Dr Londt was also selected at the national competitive recruitment process for higher training, sub-specialising in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in London. Dr Londt trained in well recognised centres such as King’s College Hospital, Royal London Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
This three years of highly structured training allowed her to complete all capabilities to achieve an approved programme of sub-specialist training eligible to enter on the GMC (General Medical Council) Specialist Register as a Paediatrician with a subspecialty in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
Dr Londt completed her certification for competency in Paediatric upper gastro-intestinal endoscopy (OGD: oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy) and Paediatric ileo-colonoscopy.
Dr Londt has attended multiple Paediatric Gastroenterology Conferences and inflammatory bowel disease courses. She has completed the JAG approved upper GI endoscopy course and colonoscopy course, and the Training the Paediatric Colonoscopy Trainer course.
Dr Londt was appointed as a Paediatric Consultant Gastroenterologist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital where her main interest is nutrition, feeding clinics and management of inflammatory bowel disease.
She has a very keen interest in teaching and regularly participates in various teaching sessions such as training courses in paediatric upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, providing lectures for post-graduate master degree programmes at University of Leeds, as well as lectures for British Dietetic Association amongst others.
Dr Londt has completed research projects such as Thiopurine drug monitoring in paediatric patients with autoimmune liver disease, case report of Chronic Granulomatous disease mimicking Crohn’s disease and she also collaborated in a project and was co-author in a prospective observational questionnaire study looking into patient and carer satisfaction with endoscopy experience across three different Paediatric Gastroenterology Centres which was published in Frontline Gastroenterology journal. Another project was parent perspective of the use of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy in children with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder.
Dr Londt has a passion for leadership and management and became the Clinical Lead for the Paediatric Gastroenterology at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Dr Londt has good communication skills and always strives at achieving empathy, respect and gratitude in her team. Dr Londt is also involved in a Clinical and Educational Supervision of future Paediatric Gastroenterology trainees to achieve an excellent training.
Dr Londt has very good rapport with her patients. This was highlighted during the recent anonymous feedback survey from her patients. Dr Londt received an overall score of 5.86 out of 6 from total of 28 patients who completed the survey. Parents described Dr Londt as very caring, supportive, reassuring and professional. Parents felt that they were listened to and that they were offered great care, explanation and management strategy.
