Professional Profile

Andrea Volpin is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in lower limb arthroplasty and sports surgery (including ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair procedures) working as a substantive Consultant at Dr Gray’s Hospital since 2020.

He studied Medicine at the University of Padua in Italy. He then completed basic surgical training and higher specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the University of Padua in Italy. Mr. Volpin enhanced his skills and expertise further by undertaking training at the University College London Hospitals and Princess Royal University Hospital, part of the King’s College Hospital. He then completed two fellowships in complex soft tissue knee surgery and hip and knee arthroplasty at the Royal Derby Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital.

In 2015, he was awarded the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology autumn travelling fellowship to the Netherlands and then granted a visiting fellowship to Vancouver in 2022.

Mr. Volpin has published extensively in Orthopaedic journals and textbooks on several aspects of hip and knee research showing his dedication to advancing the field of Orthopaedic surgery. He has also presented widely on several clinical and research topics in national and international meetings
