Dr Jawaad Malik is a Pain Medicine Specialist and Consultant Anaesthetist with expertise in back pain, sciatica, musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, neuropathic pain, interventional pain management, fluoroscopic/ultrasound-guided pain procedures and medico-legal work.
Training and Appointment
Dr Malik obtained his undergraduate degree in surgery and medicine from St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his training in world-renowned teaching hospitals such as The Royal Marsden and The Royal Free, as well as The Royal London, UCL, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Charing Cross, Hammersmith, and St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.
He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthesia (FRCA) and the Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA). Dr Malik also obtained the European Diploma of Regional Anaesthesia (EDRA) in Greece. In addition, he holds an Executive MBA from the USA. He further trained in advanced pain techniques at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Hillingdon Hospital.
Teaching and Publications
Dr Malik is a leading expert in his field and is dedicated to the education of his colleagues and trainee pain specialists. He holds Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd) teaching credentials and is Course Director for the Royal College of Anaesthetists accredited Regional Anaesthesia course. He is also on the teaching faculty for the Ultrasound in Interventional Pain Medicine comprehensive course and has taught both nationally and internationally.
Dr Malik's research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals, and he is a member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, including the Faculty of Pain Medicine. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi, making him accessible to a broad range of patients.
Current Practice
Dr Malik is registered in Harley Street and his private practice locations are in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey. His NHS base in at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey. He prides himself on providing his patients with the highest quality medical care and attention, and centres his treatment plans on the patient’s preferences, taking a patient-centred approach.
He sees patients with neuropathic pain, whiplash injuries, chronic pain syndromes, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), pain after trauma, surgery and sports injuries. Dr Malik also undertakes medico-legal work and personal injury claims.
