Personal Profile
Mr Kevin Williams is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, working at both University Hospital Coventry and St Cross Hospital, Rugby. He was appointed as a Consultant Urologist at UHCW in the spring of 2018 and his main interest is general urology, with sub-specialty interests in bladder and prostate cancer as well as day case urology and bladder outflow surgery. He is also Clinical Governance Lead at UHCW and maintains an interest in patient safety, audit, and quality improvement.
After completing his undergraduate medical training at the University of Birmingham in 2005 Mr Williams went on to embark on his surgical training in the West Midlands. During this time, he was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Warwick for his research into prostate cancer and obesity. This degree also included clinical work at UHCW where Mr Williams first began to develop his interest in prostate cancer and helped to deliver a one-stop prostate clinic.
Mr Williams offers comprehensive prostate cancer diagnostics including local anaesthetic transperineal (LATP) and general anaesthetic transperineal template prostate biopsies.
Mr Williams maintains an interest in general urology and has published articles on urological technology and the history of urology thus enabling him to offer a well-rounded, pragmatic opinion. He is involved in both undergraduate (University of Warwick) and postgraduate teaching and has also delivered a webinar for the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) on the topic of Male Urology.
When not at work Mr Williams enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His main interests are cricket, either watching or coaching juniors at his local club, socialising, and cycling.
