Personal Profile

Dr Peter Newman qualified in Medicine from Charing Cross and Westminster Hospital, London in 1985 and he completed her General Practice training in Milton Keynes 1989. During his speciality training in General Practice, he gained experience in a wide breadth of specialities including paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, accident and emergency, general medicine and diabetes and geriatric medicine.

He has been a practicing as GP since 1989 and has worked as a GP partner in a rural dispensing practice in Brandon Suffolk where the practice also looked after guests at Center Parcs Elveden. He then ran a single-handed practice in Slough and was finally a partner at Bourne End for 18 years retiring in  2018. He currently works as a Locum GP, GP Appraiser and Occupational Health Physician having a specialist qualification in Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome. He also worked for the Bank of England as their occupational physician. For the last 10 years he continues to be the Philharmonia Orchestra’s doctor in London, specialising in Musician Health and is on the medical committee for the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM). 

He enjoys playing the Clarinet and has played in the World, European, and the Doctors Orchestra in London. World Civic and North American Doctor’s Orchestra travelling to many countries. He also plays with several orchestras locally.
